1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website, submitting a scholarship application, making a charitable contribution, registering for the alumni network, or participating in any foundation program or event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the website after modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be communicated through a notice posted on this page.
2. Use of Website
You agree to use this website solely for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You shall not: (a) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the website or its underlying systems; (b) use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to extract content from the site without prior written permission; (c) transmit any material that is defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, or otherwise objectionable; (d) impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity; or (e) interfere with or disrupt the proper functioning of the website or its associated infrastructure.
3. Scholarship Application Terms
By submitting a scholarship application to the Westside Alumni Foundation, you agree to the following terms:
- Accuracy of Information: All information provided in your application, including academic records, financial documentation, essays, and supporting materials, must be truthful, accurate, and complete. Submission of false or misleading information will result in immediate disqualification and may result in the revocation of any previously awarded scholarship funds.
- Verification Rights: The Foundation reserves the right to independently verify all information provided in your application, including enrollment status, GPA, community service records, and financial need documentation, through direct contact with educational institutions, guidance counselors, and other referenced parties.
- No Guarantee of Award: Submission of an application does not guarantee receipt of a scholarship award. All award decisions are made at the sole discretion of the Foundation's Scholarship Committee and Board of Trustees based on the published evaluation criteria.
- Application Acknowledgment: You will receive an electronic confirmation within twenty-four hours of submitting your application. If you do not receive a confirmation, contact the Scholarship Office at (303) 555-0247, extension 201, to verify receipt.
- Fund Disbursement: Scholarship funds are disbursed directly to the recipient's accredited educational institution and are applied toward tuition, mandatory fees, and approved educational expenses. Funds are not disbursed directly to individual recipients.
- Renewal Requirements: Multi-year scholarship awards require annual proof of continued enrollment, maintenance of the minimum GPA specified in the award letter, and submission of a brief progress report by August 15 of each renewal year.
4. Donation & Charitable Giving Terms
By making a charitable contribution to the Westside Alumni Foundation, you agree to the following terms:
- Tax Deductibility: The Westside Alumni Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (EIN: 47-2918304). All donations are deductible to the fullest extent permitted by applicable federal and state law. You are responsible for consulting your own tax advisor regarding the specific deductibility of your contribution.
- Refund Policy: Donation refunds may be requested within thirty (30) calendar days of the transaction date by contacting our Development Office at (303) 555-0247, extension 203. Refund requests received after thirty days will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- Recurring Gift Cancellation: Monthly, quarterly, or annual recurring gifts may be cancelled at any time by contacting the Development Office or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation requests are processed within three business days, and no further charges will occur after processing.
- Fund Designation: Donors may designate their gifts to a specific program or fund. If a designated fund is discontinued or fully funded, the Foundation will reallocate the contribution to the program area most closely aligned with the donor's original intent, unless the donor provides alternative instructions.
- Acknowledgment: All donors receive a written acknowledgment letter for tax purposes within ten business days of their contribution. For gifts of $250 or more, the acknowledgment will include the required IRS language confirming that no goods or services were provided in exchange for the contribution (or a description and good-faith estimate of value of any benefit received).
5. Alumni Network Membership Terms
Registration in the Westside Alumni Network is subject to verification of your enrollment or graduation records with the Westside Unified School District. Membership is complimentary and carries no annual fee. By registering, you consent to the inclusion of your name, graduation year, and general professional information in the alumni directory, which is accessible only to other verified network members. You may request removal from the directory at any time by contacting Alumni Relations at extension 202.
